Nike, one of my favorite shoe brands of all time, recently released an ad calling on all Americans not to do what their brand usually tells them to do. Instead, one of the nation’s leading athletic apparel companies called on individuals to not turn their back on the painful issue of racism in the United States. The ads themselves are a series of simple yet powerful statements set on a black background. The comments themselves are a series of cowardice or adverse actions that we should not do. For example, don’t pretend there’s not a problem in America. Don’t turn your back on racism. Don’t accept innocent lives being taken from us. Don’t make any more excuses. Don’t think this doesn’t affect you. Don’t sit back and be silent."

Better Late than Never: ITA's Super Bowl Commercial List

I know this is two months late but I felt it was important to show here on Inside That Ad. Sir Charles is seen carrying a parrot named Larry “Bird” who will guide his bracket through the March Madness tournament. Larry the bird also serves as Sir Charles’s good luck charm. What is supposed to make the spot really funny is that a few seconds later the real “Larry Bird” walks in with a good luck parrot named Charles Barkley. All three superstars laugh at the irony of the whole situation.

Nike's Dream Crazier Ad Teaches Us to Strive for More

Nike, the absolute god of all sports apparel has unveiled its follow-up, a 90-second ad narrated by Serena Williams set to air during last Sunday’s Academy Awards ceremony on ABC. The spot, from Wieden + Kennedy in Portland, not only champions the accomplishments of female athletes but serves as a call to action, telling viewers to “Dream Crazier.” My favorite part was the fact that they included an athlete with a disability, a fellow U of I alumni, Tatyana McFadden.

BocciaMan Store Logo

Hello World,

The first blog post of 2019 will be for showing off the new logo I had designed for the new custom t-shirt design business I started in early December of 2018. It’s still not really off the ground yet but I’m really trying. The business (BocciaMan’s Store) has already made more then this blog ever did so I see it as a good thing.

I worked with a designer and this is the final concept that I liked and approved. The first design I was presented with showed the figure in the image above wearing a cap and had multiple colors. In the second and final draft, the image was changed to a solid color and the hat was removed.
