I know it’s been a while since I posted here. I primarily focus on creating Mac automation YouTube videos these days. So I wanted to share with the world out there the best Super Bowl commercials in my opinion that aired during this year’s (2023) big game. I know I skipped the 2021 Super Bowl list, and I’m a few weeks late with this one, but I think it’s essential to keep some sort of tradition going with Inside That Ad even though I don’t post much on it anymore. Nike Tells People, For Once, Don't Do It

Nike, one of my favorite shoe brands of all time, recently released an ad calling on all Americans not to do what their brand usually tells them to do. Instead, one of the nation’s leading athletic apparel companies called on individuals to not turn their back on the painful issue of racism in the United States. The ads themselves are a series of simple yet powerful statements set on a black background. The comments themselves are a series of cowardice or adverse actions that we should not do. For example, don’t pretend there’s not a problem in America. Don’t turn your back on racism. Don’t accept innocent lives being taken from us. Don’t make any more excuses. Don’t think this doesn’t affect you. Don’t sit back and be silent."

Hello World,

The first blog post of 2019 will be for showing off the new logo I had designed for the new custom t-shirt design business I started in early December of 2018. It’s still not really off the ground yet but I’m really trying. The business (BocciaMan’s Store) has already made more then this blog ever did so I see it as a good thing.

I worked with a designer and this is the final concept that I liked and approved. The first design I was presented with showed the figure in the image above wearing a cap and had multiple colors. In the second and final draft, the image was changed to a solid color and the hat was removed.

I never shared my top commercials from the 2018 Super Bowl. I had to do it after the game because I was actually crying when the Patriots lost. This Condom Maker Just Designed Some Sportswear

Condom sportswear A new fashion-flavored campaign is putting a new spin on the idea of a full-body condom.

To prove how comfortable its proprietary non-latex material really is, condom brand Skyn decided to create a line of athletic wear, and put it to the test.

A smoky, sultry 1:30 ad from Sid Lee Amsterdam features tech-infused clothing designer Pauline von Dongen describing her approach to the project, including dragonfly-wing-inspired flaps on the arms of a shirt, which can supposedly give a long jumper more, um, lift.

Nike with the World's Fastest Commercial

The shoe giant Nike recently created the fastest commercial ever advertising their newest Zoom Air sneakers. the spot features some of the world’s best athletes doing what they do best at lightning speed. That lightning speed is demonstrated via time lapse video technology of course. Let me know what you think of the spot down below.

The spot was created courtesy of an agency with one of the funniest names I’ve ever heard of “Must Be Something” also based out of Portland. Being in close proximity to your client must provide extra incentive to produce outstanding work. Anyway, let me know what you guys think of the commercial that incidentally takes a minute and 30 not the traditional 30 seconds.

United Passions - Awesome

I want to see the movie United Passions last night and contrary to my earlier point it turned out to be an awesome movie. The feature is the docudrama about the history and development of FIFA. Featured below is the trailer that I’m sure most of you seen already, but wait there is more. The two production companies are Leuviah Films & Thelma Films and they received a majority of their funding from FIFA.

Geico Happier with Mutombo

NBA legend Dikembe Mutombo joins in the fun of American commercialism. In this commercial for insurance company Geico, Mutombo does the thing that he made into an art form during his NBA career “block.” Mutombo blocks people’s shots in various real life situations. For example, he blocks a business executive’s shot away from the trash can, a college coeds laundry is on the floor instead of the laundry basket, a 10-year old kids’ cereal is swatted all over the grocery store, all because Mutombo is so enthusiastic doing what he loves, “blocking.” All the while repeating some of his more memorable catch phrases such as “Not in my house” in his very unique accent.
