Yesterday Apple announced its first event of 2022, set to take place next Tuesday, March 8th, 2022. Featuring the tagline “Peek Performance.” Along with a newly designed image for the event, a set of nested Apple icons in yellow, orange, red, pink, and purple shades. And no, that’s not a typo: instead of “peak performance,” which would mean something along the lines of “max performance,” Apple is opting for “peek performance.” This seemingly means that we’ll get a “quick or furtive” look at some sort of performance technology. The video below will be an active YouTube link once the event starts streaming on Monday.

Origin Stories of Famous Logos

About a week ago I read a very interesting story about some of the most famous fashion logos in the world–their origin stories if you will. I thought this should definitely be shared with Inside That Ad’s audience. Without further ado, let’s explore some of these famous logos.

Lacoste

René Lacoste and his tennis coach Alan Muhr made a bet involving a crocodile-skin suitcase. Mr. Lacoste didn’t win the bet but a journalist gave him the nickname “The Alligator.” American artist Robert George brings the crocodile logo to life in 1927.

Hello World,

The first blog post of 2019 will be for showing off the new logo I had designed for the new custom t-shirt design business I started in early December of 2018. It’s still not really off the ground yet but I’m really trying. The business (BocciaMan’s Store) has already made more then this blog ever did so I see it as a good thing.

I worked with a designer and this is the final concept that I liked and approved. The first design I was presented with showed the figure in the image above wearing a cap and had multiple colors. In the second and final draft, the image was changed to a solid color and the hat was removed.

Trump-Pence Logo Design is Quickly Replaced

Friday, July 15th, the Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump got a new running mate and a new campaign logo. The first version of the logo received so much ridicule online and otherwise that it was quickly replaced. Take a look at version one, no wonder people thought “Hey, that logo is NSFW (Not Suitable for Work).

First Trump-Pence logo

Trump puts a square peg in a round hole with Pence. The logo comes from joint fundraising committee in the Republican National Convention (RNC). In my opinion, most people thought the TP stands for “Toilet Paper.” And of course the T going into the P, well that just didn’t leave anything for the imagination, so let the ridicule begin. People of course thought about anal sex, shit, ass wiping and and how much they dislike the candidate.
