I wouldn’t believe it unless I saw it.

The journey began in April, featuring this relaxing endeavor, which apparently held therapeutic benefits for several viewers. This project was created for the instrumental YouTube channel Lofi Girl, featuring artwork by the Los Angeles-based studio Titmouse.

In fact, it might just be the sole promotional video you’d willingly watch repeatedly, all four hours of it especially if you are studying or just relaxing. Well done, Nissan (a sentence we never imagined penning). I almost didn’t realize that it was an advertisement for the car company. That’s when an ad is doing something, right, correct? At least that’s my opinion.

Google Pixel Ad On NBA Court

During the Bucks and Bulls NBA playoff game 1 I swear I saw Google Pixel ad flashing on the court itself? Could they be engaging in subliminal advertising? A subliminal message is a message that is meant to sort of ‘slip past your mental radar’ and embed itself deep into your subconscious mind. The word itself refers to the fact that this message should pass below (that is, sub) your normal perception, underneath its limits – therefore being liminal.

Google CODA Commercial

Google’s CODA TV spot tells the story of a man named Tony. Tony is what’s known as a “CODA”, a child of deaf adults. Tony’s parents were both born deaf, so he grew up speaking sign language and translating for his parents. During the pandemic, Tony hasn’t been able to see his parents in person, but he can still communicate with them through the use of technology, including letting his parents spend time with their new grand-baby. You should note that all the technology in the commercial is a Google related product so no this is not an ode to a certain Apple TV show which I’ll talk about next.

Photoshopped Ads for Fun

I made a bet with a friend of mine on the outcome of the first World Series game which the Atlanta Braves won.
I made this by taking a Voyager ad that I found on Twitter and modifying it to be funny enough to send to my friend.
Here is another advertising treasure I recently discovered, a 1984 Macintosh commercial that featured former Microsoft CEO, Bill Gates. It’s actually not a commercial but a promotional video that featured the billionaire. I believe it is the Apple II being featured, its biggest selling points according to the promo video? The GUI interface and the pointer mouse. Can you believe how time just flies? If you’re a fan of burgers, it’s no surprise that the competitors are often guilty of throwing serious shade towards one another in front of millions of eyeballs but for just one day they are working in unison for a common goal.

Burger King, Argentina went one day without selling any whoppers in support of McDonald’s with their annual fundraising campaign of donating $2 to Children With Cancer for every Big Mac and the signature burger that they sell. This seems to go over well with the public at least an appearance on social media. The net impact of Burger King sales of their most popular whopper wasn’t impacted at all. But unfortunately, the same thing applies for McDonald’s sales meaning that customers just showed up to buy their favorite burger.

Nissan Saudi National Day Ad

A family member shared this ad with me so I thought I’d share it with the Inside That Ad community. Tomorrow is officially Saudi national day, a celebration of when the kingdom was formed over 100 years ago. For this occasion, Nissan put out this ad demonstrating how the car brand has been a mainstay throughout the country‘s history.

The ad shows a Saudi man driving a Nissan car through a crowd of cars going from the era of black and white to full color. Symbolizing how the car has lasted through Saudi history. Etisalat is a multinational Emirati based telecommunications services provider, currently operating in 15 countries across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. I wanted to discuss the ad here on Inside That Ad because I believe it’s my first time seeing an ad that I confused with a music video. You don’t find out that it is actually advertising a product until the end of the commercial. All the scenes are not in any sort of sequence, there is a slogan and everyone in the commercial is dancing in some fashion.

Burger King Created Adverts From X-Rays of Customers

Burger King, a global brand is rolling out advertisements using real x-rays of injured customers. Reportedly, deodorant manufacturer Right Guard has created an armpit-based method of advertising which has cleverly been dubbed Pitvertising. This is where street teams (a.k.a. guerilla marketing) are going out in public with clothing that has sewn-in video screens that constantly stream Right Guard ads. The goal is to obviously place Right Guard products top of potential consumers.

This Bud is for 3 Also Known as Dwyane Wade

This Bud is for 3 is the latest spot from Budweiser, featuring the legendary basketball player, Dwyane Wade.
But this spot from Budweiser, featuring Wade’s mother and others he’s inspired and supported through extreme hardship, is obviously even more emotional than the usual parting salutes. Wade helped one of his fans graduate college via a full scholarship. Another lady in the spot lost everything in a house fire so Wade took her and her family on a shopping spree. He also supported yet another family of a fan who died in the Parkland shooting tragedy. In yet another example he motivated one of his fans to change his life for the better, inspiring him to go get a job. Finally, Wade’s own mother spoke about how he stood by her while she was incarcerated and he eventually bought her a church because she was a minister.

NBA Superstars are in a March Madness Frenzy

This spot for Capital One credit cards is titled “Bracket Buddy.” It features Samuel Jackson, Spike Lee and Charles Barkley check into a hotel.
Nike, the absolute god of all sports apparel has unveiled its follow-up, a 90-second ad narrated by Serena Williams set to air during last Sunday’s Academy Awards ceremony on ABC. The spot, from Wieden + Kennedy in Portland, not only champions the accomplishments of female athletes but serves as a call to action, telling viewers to “Dream Crazier.” My favorite part was the fact that they included an athlete with a disability, a fellow U of I alumni, Tatyana McFadden.

Microsoft Shines a Light on Disability with For the Win Super Bowl Commercial

Hello World,

I was extremely disappointed with the final result of the Super Bowl game this past Sunday. As you probably have already figured out I was rooting for the Los Angeles Rams, who came up short this year. The game was so boring that one of the commentators actually called it the Snooze Bowl. On the other hand, the commercials did not disappoint. I have to be honest with you, the fact that some of these ads have already appeared on the wonderful, wild Internet is somewhat of a let down for me. Why do you ask?
I read an interesting article this week regarding the Super Bowl. You know that not only is it football’s big day but it’s also a big day for advertising and marketing in general. One thing the city of Atlanta where the Super Bowl is taking place is known for is being the main headquarters of the Coca-Cola company (Coke). But Coke is not the main sponsor of the NFL, that honor goes to Pepsi. Pepsi is, of course, one of Coke’s main competitors. But I think Coke still got the last laugh over Pepsi in this year’s upcoming Super Bowl.

Should Inside That Ad Start a YouTube Channel?

Hello World,

I’ve been thinking about how I could possibly start an Inside That Ad (ITA) YouTube channel. Do you guys think that’s even possible? The reason I am considering a YouTube channel for the ITA blog is for three reasons:

Reasons:

- There isn’t advertising and or a marketing channel like the ITA blog on YouTube. You know, a channel the discusses the ad as content along with the ad’s creators (i.e. ad agency or marketing firm.

- YouTube as a marketing channel will expose the blog via its videos to a wider audience. That audience will already be there and searching for videos to watch.

- If videos take off with respect to views, the YouTube partner program can be another source of revenue for the blog. Let’s be completely honest with you. I’m trying to make the blog, [Teespring](https://teespring.com/stores/bocciamans-store) sales and possibly the videos a legitimate source of income. Right now, everything I’m doing online to try to generate income can be considered simply a hobby.

Your Job

The reason I need you, the audience is to not only support my endeavor but also help me develop a possible format for the videos that will be uploaded on to the new YouTube channel.

Gillette Commercial & Me Too

Hello

A few days ago I saw a Gillette commercial that I thought was about bullying at first glance. And it was, but the topic that the commercial really focused on was the #me too movement that we all must be conscious of in a time sexual harassment and bullying is more out in the open. But grabbed my attention is that they incorporated the within the ‘The Best a Man Can Get’ campaign which has turned 30 this year.

Inside That Ad A Trailer - Annihilation

Annihlation, The latest in ITA’s movie adventures was this work of fantasy fiction above. In the process, she reveals who among the yet-to-be-introduced cast of characters who survives, and who dies.
Some Nike commercials are as memorable for their camerawork, and the way they’re shot, as for their celebrity stars or message of inspiration.

Guy Ritchie’s stunning 2008 spot “Take It to the Next Level” immediately comes to mind. A decade later, the brand’s newest effort from Wieden + Kennedy London, titled “Nothing Beats a Londoner,” is likewise technically breathtaking, in part thanks to the efforts of Riff Raff directors Megaforce.

I haven’t thought about it again until I received my new MoviePass card last week. Therefore, I want to try again. Without further ado, the first trailer I want to share with you is for Molly’s Game.

The movie is about Molly Bloom, a business savvy, former athlete who set up and ran a high stake poker game for actors, business tycoons, and star athletes. I’m sharing the trailer first because I love poker and anything about the subject as well as the fact that it is the first movie I saw using the MoviePass card I told you about above. More importantly, I would like to know what you all, the audience want to get out of a blog post discussing a movie trailer? For me, I just wanted a way to track the different movies that I go to on a weekly basis. This is still primarily an advertising blog, which is why I will only discuss movies with respect to their trailers.

Inside That Ad's Top 10 Super Bowl LII Commercials

Alas, you won’t be able to try it out. The image here is a Photoshop job by Adam Padilla, the founder of creative agency Brandfire.

Today, I discovered that his campaign even has unique banner ad placements. One of this unique ad placements includes a skyscraper banner that appears on a Skype chat window.

The banner takes you to Tom Steyer’s Impeach Trump Website. My question is why go through all this effort for something that will never happen what-so-ever? Now, I know what you are thinking. Well, if you think like that, it’s kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy, isn’t it? My answer is no and that’s because to accomplish Steyer’s goal you cannot simply disagree with the policy, and expect to change the public’s mind and move them to see things from your point of view, am I right? For what Steyer is asking to happen, the law has to be broken and the President has not done anything that warrants pursuing and or achieving Steyer’s goal.

Bread Face Made an Ad for Jewelry While Mashing Her Face Into Baked Goods

You know you love yourself some ASMR content, that stuff of soft sounds that apparently result in ticklish little braingasms. But the cottage industry goes way further than mere whispers.

In fact, this video of Travis Kelce and Greg Olsen challenging each other to eat one of Paqui’s hellishly spicy Carolina Reaper Madness chips is probably the most positive media coverage we’ve seen about professional football in months.

The chip is named after its chief ingredient, the Carolina Reaper pepper, which happens to be the world’s spiciest pepper. This year’s batch of chips is even hotter than last year’s, and individually sold in coffin-shaped boxes that ask if the purchaser has any last words. And here we thought hot sauces led the race in ominous packaging.

Toyota's Championship Game

Toyota really scored big with this “Championship Game” commercial The spot features two sisters learn the meaning of sportsmanship when they attend their father’s wheelchair basketball game, nervously watching as he gets knocked to the ground by an opposing player, and then witness the dejection in his eyes after his team is defeated. As they are about to leave, he rolls over to the man who knocked him down and shakes his hand. It really appeals to the audience’s emotions, a tried and true tactic when advertisers feature “disability” in their advertising.

Trump-Pence Logo Design is Quickly Replaced

Friday, July 15th, the Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump got a new running mate and a new campaign logo. The first version of the logo received so much ridicule online and otherwise that it was quickly replaced. Take a look at version one, no wonder people thought “Hey, that logo is NSFW (Not Suitable for Work).

First Trump-Pence logo

Trump puts a square peg in a round hole with Pence. The logo comes from joint fundraising committee in the Republican National Convention (RNC). In my opinion, most people thought the TP stands for “Toilet Paper.” And of course the T going into the P, well that just didn’t leave anything for the imagination, so let the ridicule begin. People of course thought about anal sex, shit, ass wiping and and how much they dislike the candidate.

This Condom Maker Just Designed Some Sportswear

Condom sportswear

JWT Canada released a digital campaign for Air Canada that advocates people give Canada a test drive by visiting as a tourist prior to moving there. I’d be willing to bet that they came up with this campaign based on research that people are increasing Googling “how to move to Canada” to avoid the possibility of a Trump presidency here in the U.S.

The spot begins with an Air Canada ticket agent watching a screen tracking how many Americans are searching for “How can I move to Canada?” — sitting at 1,367,899 as she says, “And there’s another one.” Then she proceeds to mention cultural and geographical differences that we, Americans should try out before booking a one way ticket up North. I did that with the intention of talking about how Inside That Ad plans to feature more movie trailers as part of its regular updates. Movie trailers are a form of advertising for movie. In fact, the Merriam-Webster dictionary defines a movie trailer as “a selected group of scenes that are shown to advertise a movie” So, I figured it would be fair game for this blog to discuss. Below is trailer for the latest addition to the Jurassic Park series “Jurassic World.”

What Happened to agencycompile.com?

Agencycompile.com has changed significantly since the last time I tried to use it seriously back when I was living in Boston.
I remember it as being a simple website, with a plain look, feel and login that was very appealing to me. That appeal stemmed from knowing of a site where I can look up agencies based on size, specialty, billing ranges and most importantly to me location so that I can submit my resume to open positions. Now, the site doesn’t appear to be so simple to navigate through. It has so many sections and functioned very poorly while I was trying to use it in Google Chrome that I’m surprised no one else has complained. Furthermore, I submitted another registration form and tried to contact some sort of support department because I wasn’t getting the confirmation email to complete the registration to allow me to use the site but I haven’t heard anything back. The campaign turns pay phones into geo-located time capsules—dial (855) FOR-1993 from any pay phone in Manhattan, and you will hear a personal account of what was going down in that particular area in 1993, a pivotal year in the city’s history. The recordings offer memories of everything from the World Trade Center bombing in the Financial District to the club culture at Limelight in Chelsea to the opening of Angels in America in Midtown.

Story Behind "Keep Calm and Carry On"

Apparently, there is an amazing story behind the “Keep Calm and Carry On” campaign. In this commercial for insurance company Geico, Mutombo does the thing that he made into an art form during his NBA career “block.” Mutombo blocks people’s shots in various real life situations. For example, he blocks a business executive’s shot away from the trash can, a college coeds laundry is on the floor instead of the laundry basket, a 10-year old kids’ cereal is swatted all over the grocery store, all because Mutombo is so enthusiastic doing what he loves, “blocking.” All the while repeating some of his more memorable catch phrases such as “Not in my house” in his very unique accent.

Honest iPad Ad

This shows what people really do or at least want to do while on their iPads. Obviously it’s not a real ad but it’s put together in such a creative way that you could see how it could be perceived as an ad. This post was made possible by Ads of the World.
